Makes handling a full glass carboy much safer and easy.  Personally I would not use a carboy without one.

Use on a 5 gallon fermenter or 2 1gallon demijohns for fermentation or around a pressure barrel for secondary fermentation.  Rated at 25watts they do not use much electricity and temperature is controled by positioning of the belt on the fermenter.
